Here’s an update on my health journey. (It’s also in my highlights 😉) The biggest thing I’ve learned is this:
Don't give up. Sometimes it feels like we're spinning our wheels, and what we need is just out of our grasp.

But here's the thing... the only way you'll never get there is if you stop walking.

So don't stop. Keep searching, keep fighting, keep trying new things. Keep asking for help if you need it.

Just keep going. 💛💛

Today is my 34th birthday. And it’s not going ex

Today is my 34th birthday. And it’s not going exactly how I expected...
.
You see, a couple of weeks ago I started feeling really sad. This is kind of normal for me the last few years, since my grandfather, who I shared a birthday with, passed away. It has made birthdays much harder for me, and what used to be a very happy day for me is now bittersweet.
.
But this was more. It was heavy, and my anxiety started coming back, along with crawling sensations, joint pain, and brain fog so bad I have a hard time recalling simple words. That was when I realized this was bigger.
.
I remembered a few weeks back when I finally had to cave and take a steroid for the poison ivy rash that wouldn’t go away. I held off for over two weeks, trying everything I could, trying to avoid that medication. But I needed it... and I knew this was a possibility. I still didn’t expect it.
.
But my Lyme came back.
.
So on my birthday, it still feels bittersweet, and also frustrating. I’ve got to start over with treatment. I’m using the same treatment I used before, @vitalplan Restore Kit, which I will customize with specific Buhner herbal tinctures based on symptoms.
.
I didn’t expect to be doing this again, and it’s been hard. But then I opened my Vital Plan box and found a card... with a quote from me. From a photo shoot I did with them 3 years ago. What an amazing thing that was to find (swipe to see it!) I did the shoot with them looking to encourage other people, not knowing I would also end up encouraging myself 3 years later.
.
So I’m taking this as my sign that things are working out, and I’m taking the right steps, and I will eventually get back to where I was.🙏🏼

I've had this conversation more times than I can remember. "Isn't it hard to eat so healthy?"
"Don't you miss REAL food?"
"I could never do it, I love _________ too much."
"I'd rather just live and be happy than worry about what I eat."
"MUSHROOMS in your coffee??" (followed by a grossed out face) 🍄
.....and on.
.
But here's the thing... YES, I get it. YES, it gets exhausting sometimes and I burn out. YES, sometimes I miss being able to go out to a restaurant and pick anything I wanted off the menu. YES, sometimes, I would rather do anything than cook again. YES, sometimes I get stressed out and eat everything I know my body hates, just because it tastes good, and I instantly regret it. 🧁
.
Hear me out though...YES- there are foods that I miss, but I would miss being able to play with my kids more if I was bedridden. YES- there are foods that put me into a flare so badly that I don't get the privilege to cook for my family, I just have to lay in bed all day every day.
.
Because my reality is- I had horrible mold illness/EMF/POTS symptoms on a regular basis (almost every day) up until I found King coffee. But due to the fact that reishi, the wonder mushroom, detoxes your body of mold and candida, I am much less bothered by EMF's now. It feels unreal that adding in a cup of coffee to my routine has helped me to not feel like I'm going to pass out if we are by a cell tower. ☕️
.
My POTS used to give me shakes and palpitations daily, in addition to exercise intolerance, dizziness, and fatigue. I could barely walk up and down our street in our old neighborhood without needing to rest for 2 days afterward... But now I get to run around our little farmstead all day long, and I still feel good at the end of the night. Tired, but fulfilled. 💛

Coffee used to make me feel jittery and nauseous, and it was so hard for me because I LOVE coffee. I've given it up so many times, and always gone back because it's just so warm and comforting. (Continued in Comments) 👇🏼

We have been dreaming about buying land and moving

We have been dreaming about buying land and moving into the country for years. Several years. And it always seemed so far away, either financially or time-wise. Some days it felt like we would never get there.
.
Then one day the world turned its crazy on and we just decided to go for it. We could either keep waiting for everything to be perfect, or we could leap, and leap hard.
.
Leaping sucks, but if you want to make your dreams come true, you eventually need to take action. Create the life you want to live, where you don’t feel the need to take a vacation to escape from it.
.
Some people think we are crazy. We’ve moved a lot, made a lot of big decisions, and seemed all over the place. But one thing we have not done is sit somewhere we were unhappy. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I would rather keep moving and growing and learning than remain somewhere afraid to take the next step.
.
So now we are officially homesteaders living in the middle of nowhere, and perfectly content with our 2 dogs, 40 chickens, and a rabbit. Farm life is good!
.

Summer is officially here, it’s hotter than it needs to be (c’mon Arkansas 🥵), but we have settled into our new house and I’m so excited to break out the grill for this summertime favorite!☀️

We set up our chicken coop this weekend! 🤩 #cultivatingahomestead

My sister had been keeping my chicks along with hers, so that I didn’t have to start from scratch once we officially relocated to our homestead.
.
I was definitely intimidated, but I think we have been adjusting well! 🙌🏼
.
This whole move has been incredibly stressful, and I’ve still got flares happening as we adapt to our new #homesteadlife but we already love it here!
.
We got this coop from a friend of my sisters and just put a couple layers of paint on to freshen it up. It looks so much better! We still have a little touching up to do, but the chicks don’t seem to mind 🤷🏻‍♀️
