So I wanted to put together a gift guide for you to make things easier this year when you’re buying for your health & wellness fan friends!
Now, before you go thinking that these gifts are not that fun- I assure you they are! If somebody that you know is interested in health and wellness, then they’ll be excited about these ideas. I personally own each one of these, and I absolutely love them all. T
hey are some of the many things that I use on a regular basis to help protect our bodies from many environmental contaminants and help our bodies work better. What isn’t fun about that?!
10 Best Gift Ideas for Health & Wellness
Salt Lamp – Not only do these lamps emit a nice, calming light, but they also help to purify the air around you! No joke- the Himalayan salt rocks that these lamps are made out of helps to remove water vapor from the air, and all of the contaminants that it carries. They also work great as night lights that don’t signal your brain to start waking up as soon as you spot one. That’s an irritating effect of the LED nightlights during a midnight bathroom trip!
Blue Light Blockers – Not only are these glasses super stylish (kidding), but they will really improve your sleep cycles. They work by blocking the blue light that comes out of electronics (phones, computers, and TV’s for starters). These electronics and their blue light stimulates our brain to suppress melatonin production, which affects the amount of deep sleep that we get. I notice a huge difference with how rested I feel after using these glasses for a couple of hours before bed each night. I find that this is one of the trendier gift ideas for health & wellness enthusiasts.
Bath Ball Water Filter – Do you take detox baths like I do? Or maybe bathe the kids regularly? It’s important to realize that even though we filter our drinking water, we’re still absorbing all of that same junk when we take a bath (and shower!) Our skin is our biggest organ, after all. So how do we go about getting clean without having our bodies absorb large amounts of chlorine, chloramine, and more? These bath balls are amazing for this purpose- you swish them around in the tub for a few minutes before you get in, and they help to neutralize the chlorine and chloramine, making the water quality better for you. Add in some epsom salts and you’re good to go!
Sleep Mask – I’ve been using a sleep mask for as long as I can remember. I definitely started in high school, so it’s been well over a decade since I began this habit. Sleep masks are amazing with helping to achieve consistent sleep because they help keep all of the light off of your eyes until your body wakes up on its own. This is a huge benefit for me because I often wake up at night due to autoimmune/Lyme issues. But when I don’t remove my sleep mask and just try to get back to sleep, it’s MUCH EASIER.
Essential Oil Diffuser – These are amazing for cleaning the air in your home, helping to ward off germs and provide comfort when you’re sick, and also for helping induce relaxation and peaceful sleep. We only use high quality essential oils, but the diffusers can come from basically anywhere. I’ve used several different brands and love them all; just make sure to find ones that last at least 6 hours AND have auto-shut off if you want to sleep with them on.
Contigo Travel Coffee Mug– So this mug doesn’t contribute to health & wellness on its own, but it does set you up for success! I used this mug daily for my coffee for one reason- it keeps it warm for HOURS. Like 4 to 5 hours. I’m too busy to be able to drink my coffee in one go, so I just carry this with me all morning and drink my coffee on the go. This benefits my health by making sure I’m taking in only the best quality coffee (most coffee shops have junk coffee), and I am in full control of what’s in it so I’m not ingesting 50 grams of sugar with my morning joe.
EMF Protector for Phone & Laptop – We live in a world where we are constantly plugged in everywhere we go. We have our phones, computers, and tablets within reach most of the time, and we keep them close without realizing that they’re always emitting an electromagnetic field around them that could be damaging our cells. EMF’s cause damage to our mitochondria, increase the free radicals in our bodies, and have even been linked to cardiac arrhythmias. One good way to minimize some of the most potent sources is to turn off your wi-fi at night while you sleep, get cases for your phone and computer, and avoid smart meters on your house! (Also, taking regular antioxidants helps to reverse damage from free radicals.)
Air Purifiers – I’ve written about cleaning the air in your home before, and I still think it’s very important. Especially when you realize that over 50% of US homes have mold in them. With allergens, chemicals, and other irritants in the air all the time, it’s important to try to keep the air you breathe the most as clean as possible. The Molekule is the Rolls Royce of air filters, removing mold, allergens, and VOC’s from the air. This is one of the most practical gift ideas for health & wellness friends.
Grounding/Earthing Mat – Have you tried earthing yet? Basically, it’s what happens when you take off your shoes and walk across the ground barefoot. You allow your body to come in direct contact with the Earth, and it helps to stabilize your natural electric current. It’s also been shown to help reduce oxidative stress! The thing is, we don’t spend much time outdoors in the winter if we live in a cooler climate, so there are earthing mats and sheets that you can get to help do the same thing without freezing your feet off outside!
Rebounder – This is perhaps one of the most important things on the list! A rebounder is essentially a mini trampoline, but for adults. And while it is great for exercise, my point in recommending it is not to lose a few pounds, but to help your body to function better. The lymphatic system in your body does not have a pump- the lymph moves by using the motion of your body. And if you don’t move enough, then your lymph can get stagnant and start causing several different health issues. This is possibly the most fun of the gift ideas for health & wellness fans; I know that I really enjoy using my rebounder!
So there you have it! These are my top suggestions for holiday gift ideas for health & wellness enthusiasts. I personally own and love all of these, and would absolutely buy them again if I needed to.
