I don’t know about you, but the older I get, the more excited I am about kitchen gifts. I think it’s because I spend so much time in there cooking and preparing real food meals, so the idea of anything that can simplify the process (or just make it more enjoyable) is extremely appealing to me. Over the years, I’ve found some really amazing gadgets that have made my daily cooking much more enjoyable; and if you knew how much I used to dislike cooking, you’d realize that’s a big deal! So I’ve made a list of the best kitchen gift ideas for those people you know who are into health and wellness.
10 Best Kitchen Gift Ideas for Health & Wellness
Water Filtration System – This is one of the most important upgrades you can give your kitchen for improved health. If you think about how much water we drink daily (or SHOULD be drinking, ahem), and how much junk is in our tap water, then it seems like a no brainer.
Instant Pot – If I had to pick ONE new thing for my kitchen, it would definitely be the Instant Pot. I’ll admit, I was weary at the beginning. I mean, everyone raved about it, and I was worried that it wouldn’t live up to the hype. But boy, does it! Y’all- I use my Instant Pot at least 3 times a week. And for the most part, I make large meals with leftovers. So basically, I use it almost every time I cook. It cuts down on cooking time by huge amounts, and it’s hands-free which makes things so much easier. My favorite kitchen tool!
High Quality Knife Set – This is one of the things that you don’t realize is important until you try it. I figured the knives that I’d had for years (and had gotten really cheap) were just fine. But I was wrong! First of all, dull knives are very dangerous, so get a sharpener too! But a high quality knife set makes cutting, chopping, and dicing ridiculous amounts of food so much easier and safer.
High Speed Blender– When you commit to eating real food meals, a high speed blender can be a life saver. We use our Blendtec to make my daily smoothies to up my veggie intake, to make our bulletproof coffee for longer lasting energy, and for fun side dishes like garlic mashed cauliflower. If you get something like this one or this one, then you’ll be able to blend up anything with no effort!
Immersion Blender – This is the best thing ever for making soups. I have zero desire to try to put hot soups in a blender to puree them, so the immersion blender just makes it easy to blend it all up while it’s still in the pot. It’s perfect for making my favorite roasted pumpkin soup!
Toaster Oven/Convection Oven – A while back, we gave up our microwave. We stopped using it because when you microwave your food, you’re essentially destroying any nutrients. And we need the nutrients in our food to heal from chronic illness. We now have a countertop toaster/convection oven and we love it. Sure, it takes a little longer, but the nutrition of the food stays intact so we’re ok with it. This makes the toaster oven one of the best kitchen gift ideas for those who reheat food often!
Dehydrator – These are so fun and versatile. You can use them to make chips out of veggies, like these sweet potato chips. Or you can use one to make jerkey, dry apples, and more. Plus, they are super easy to use, so that is a bonus right there!
Mandolin – If you struggle with cutting things thin enough like I do, then a mandolin is the best thing you can get. It makes slicing, shredding, and cutting a breeze. Use them for veggie chips, sweet potato hash browns, and fries! And as long as you wear a protective glove, your fingers are safe too. Seriously, y’all. These are SHARP. Ask my husband.
Stand Mixer – I actually argued with my husband that we didn’t need one of these. I said we’d never use it. But boy, was I wrong! I use this thing constantly. I mix up cookies, muffins, cauliflower, and basically anything else I can get my hands on. And if you get the various attachments you can process meat, make zoodles, and more!
Ceramic Cookware – I upgraded my cookware over a year ago after reading about how toxic the teflon coating is. This set of fully ceramic cookware is one of the best kinds you can get because it’s non-toxic, non-scratch, oven safe, freezer safe, dishwasher safe, and easy to clean. The ceramic coated cast iron sets are nice too, but much pricier than a whole set of these ceramic ones. Just make sure to get full ceramic cookware, not ceramic coated!
If you’re looking to upgrade to a healthier kitchen, then these are the best kitchen gift ideas that I can suggest for you. Even just starting a little at a time will help lower toxins and make it easier to cook from scratch so you can eat healthier.

Personally, I think the mandolin is a perfect gift idea. It can be hard, sometimes, to just sit there and chop things evenly. Compound being uncoordinated from a chronic illness, and sometimes cooking gets a bit more difficult. But, a mandolin, not that makes things much easier!
Thank you for the ideas!

Cooking for every meal to heal chronic illness is not easy! I hate chopping things, which is why I love the mandolin. But honestly, sometimes I just throw everything in the Instant Pot as-is and then blend it up after with the immersion blender 😉 WAY easier!
