If there was a flavor for the Christmas season, I think it would be peppermint. Peppermint and chocolate. Like those delicious little Andes mints that I can’t get enough of once the Christmas lights go up. You may be the type of person who loves peppermint year round- and these peppermint keto candies will be perfect for you! I really only enjoy it during the holidays, which makes this the perfect seasonal snack for me too!
If you’ve never heard of keto fudge (or fat bombs), they’re typically used as a way to supplement fat intake on a low carb high fat diet (or ketogenic diet). These diets usually focus on getting 60%-75% calories from fat, 15%-30% calories from protein, and 5%-10% calories from carbs.
This benefits your body by switching it from burning glucose for energy to burning fat for energy. The specific plan that I follow is Wahls Paleo Plus, which focuses on healthy coconut fats, 6 cups of vegetables daily, and organ meats.
Now, while treats like these peppermint keto candies shouldn’t be a primary source of fat, they do help greatly with supplementation. You can get a lot of fat with little effort by using these candies.
We like to give them to our kids as a treat each day; they’re sugar-free, loaded with omega-3’s, and anti-inflammatory due to the nature of coconut oil.
With my autoimmune and Lyme issues, along with my three-year old having verbal apraxia, we have been focusing on anti-inflammatory foods and fats in his diet in order to help his brain heal and function more optimally. I mean, the brain is almost 60% fat, and requires essential fatty acids in order to perform well.

So while I’ve been experimenting with a ketogenic diet in the form of Wahls Paleo Plus, we’ve been working with my boys as well to minimize inflammation, cut out bad foods, and encourage healing of their bodies. The changes that we’ve seen are amazing!
In just 1 1/2 months, after cutting out gluten, sugar, increasing vegetables and healthy fats, and moderating healthy meats, my son is now making many more sounds and has over 6 new words in his vocabulary, basically doubling it! If you’re not familiar with verbal apraxia; that is an amazing accomplishment in a short period of time!
So you can imagine why these chocolate peppermint keto candies (and others) are a staple in our refrigerator. My boys love them so much, they specifically ask for them! I don’t feel guilty letting them indulge in these ‘candies’, whether it’s as a morning snack or for dessert.
And plus- they’re delicious and they taste like Christmas.
What are your favorite ways to get lots of healthy fats into your diet?
