If you’re looking for a healthier way to enjoy your family’s Thanksgiving feast, then look no further than this apple cinnamon Paleo cranberry sauce. The perfect blend of tart and sweet, it will be a new tradition for your family to look forward to!
Why this Paleo cranberry sauce is amazing:
- This recipe is super simple, so it won’t add unnecessary time and energy to your Thanksgiving feast preparation. Just bring to a boil, cook it down, and blend!
- It’s just as delicious as the traditional canned jelly cranberry sauce that always graced our tables and plates growing up, so you don’t have to sacrifice flavor for your diet!
- It’s way better than the processed cranberry sauce because it’s all fresh ingredients; so you have complete control over what you’re feeding your family.
FAQ’s:
Can I make this Paleo cranberry sauce ahead of time?
Yes! I actually usually make it a couple of weeks ahead of time and just stick it in the freezer. It stores very well and thaws to be just as good as if it’s fresh.
Can I use any other flavors besides apple?
Absolutely! I’ve made this with orange and pears as well. Many fruits would go great in this recipe, use your imagination and create something amazing!
The Process:
- Measure all ingredients into a medium saucepan.
- Mix thoroughly and bring to a boil, stirring regularly so it doesn’t burn to the bottom.
- Once boiling, reduce to low heat and let it simmer until it thickens (approximately 20-30 minutes).
- Use an immersion blender to roughly blend the apples and cranberries into more of a jelly consistency.
- Remove from heat and let it cool.
Notes from the cook:
- You can easily make this ahead of time and keep it in the fridge or freezer for Turkey Day.
- If you don’t have an immersion blender, just put it in a normal blender and pulse it, so it stays chunky. The cranberries automatically burst and cook into a jelly, but the apples won’t unless you blend them.
- If you prefer a more tart flavor, cut the sweetener in half and adjust accordingly. This recipe is easy to customize to your taste preferences!
