  • 2 large sweet potatoes
  • 4 tbsp avocodo oil
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp paprika omit if AIP
  • salt & pepper to taste

  • Fire up that grill to medium heat, and then let it warm up for a few minutes.
  • Slice the sweet potatoes into 1/4 inch slices, and put them into a big ziploc bag.
  • Add the oil and spices and shake it well to coat the sweet potatoes.
  • Once the grill is warm, put the sweet potato slices on it in a single layer, and let them cook about 5-7 minutes per side.
  • If the slices are thicker, then let them cook slightly longer, just keep an eye on them.

  • Grilled sweet potatoes should be crisp on the outside, but still a little soft in the middle.  They are easy to prep, and require little maintenance on the grill.  This makes them the perfect side dish for your next cookout!
  • Adding garlic powder to the sweet potatoes is my favorite way to bring out a fantastic savory flavor, while still being able to enjoy the subtle sweetness of this delicious vegetable.
  • These would also be delicious as a dessert if you season them with cinnamon and coconut palm sugar, and then let butter melt on top when they are done.
  • This recipe works best if the slices are around 1/4 inch thick. But if you make them thicker, just let them cook slightly longer.  It's important to keep an eye on them so they don't burn.
  • These store well for a couple of days in the refrigerator, but they do get softer the longer they are stored.  For best results, eat the same day.
