Apple Cinnamon Paleo Cranberry Sauce

Author Stefani

Ingredients

  • 12 oz fresh cranberries
  • 1 apples chopped
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • Mix all of the ingredients in a medium saucepan.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Once boiling, reduce heat and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
  • Use an immersion blender to make sure the apples are blended and everything is mixed.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool before refrigerating.
  • Serve chilled or room temperature.

Notes

  • You can easily make this ahead of time and keep it in the fridge or freezer for Turkey Day.
  • If you don't have an immersion blender, just put it in a normal blender and pulse it, so it stays chunky.  The cranberries automatically burst and cook into a jelly, but the apples won't unless you blend them.
  • If you prefer a more tart flavor, cut the sweetener in half and adjust accordingly.  This recipe is easy to customize to your taste preferences!
